Gifts for a literary life

Reading literature and having a writing practice can help us notice the world around us. It doesn’t matter if we write for ourselves or others; if we read poetry aloud to our friends or savour it in moments of private contemplation. It helps us stay alive to the world and connected to ourselves. I offer these gifts to you to help you notice the poetry of life.

A Literary Journey through Autumn

My Autumn Journal, ‘Seasons of Mists and Mellow Fruitfulness’, celebrates both my favourite season and some of my favourite Romantic authors. The journal features enough reading and writing prompts for two weeks. The exercises are short enough to integrate into your everyday life or you can use it to create a cosy retreat. Either way, I hope this gift will help you slow down and enjoy the season as it unfolds. (*Cosy blanket not included).

A Journal to Savour Summer

When we’re young, summer seems to stretch out before us forever. As we get older, we long for those languid days. Days spent lazing on a picnic blanket or in a hammock. If your schedule is determined by school terms – perhaps you’re a parent or an academic – you might be tempted to push off important things to the summer, when somehow you’ll magically have ‘ more time’. I hope this little offering of poetry, pictures, and writing prompts, will help you make some time this summer for savouring those special gifts that only come during summer.
